LAWDA demolishes 5 illegal structures, one structure sealed

• Establishes night Naka's to stop illegal ferrying of construction material

SRINAGAR: A massive demolition drive was launched by the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority under the supervision of Enforcement Officer in the area of Habak Batapora, Teilbal, Braine,Check Sedarable, in which 05 illegal constructions/structures which includes 02 single storey houses, 02 double storey houses and two gate pillars which were raised illegally were demolished on spot.

Also an illegal construction belonging to some reputed persons in which many personalities have resisted was sealed in presence of Secretary LDA. During the demolition drive there was stiff resistance from the miscreants in the area of Batapora Teilbal in which stones were hurled on the demolition squad which resulted law and order problem. During the process one police constable got minor injuries in his arm.

It is pertinent to mention here that amid Covid-19, when there is Lockdown everywhere the miscreants are taking undue advantage and indulging in illegal constructions but all such miscreants will not be allowed for any sort of violation and raising of illegal constructions/encroachments.

Also it is pertinent to mention here that Night Checking Naka's are established in which trippers carrying building material illegally are seized and FIRs are being registered in the concerned police stations.       

It is as such requested that all the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction are once again informed that not to go for any sort of illegal constructions /encroachments. As the Enforcement wing will continue with the demolition of illegal constructions. Moreover the Tripper/Load carrier owners are directed not to carry any type of illegal construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/ Nigeen Lake without proper permission from the concerned agencies.
