Addressing at the concluding function Secretary Cultural Academy Mr Zafar Iqbal Manhas said that more than 300 artists from all parts of the State participated in the historic mega cultural event.
He expressed satisfaction at the massive response of the people including foreign nationals that turned up in large numbers to witness the festivities aimed at showcasing centuries old traditions, cultural ethos, heritage, theatre and performing arts in the capital.
He said the Academy is planning to hold another big event in collaboration with NZCC in Chandighar during this month.
Today’s main attractions were Dhambali Dance of Kashmir, Chabskyan tses of Ladakhi, Gojri folk Music, Kashmiri Chakri Music, Punjabi Dance., Pahari Folk Dance, Dogri Haran Dance, Kashmiri Bhand Theatre, Purgi Dance of Kargil, Dogri Kud Dance, Kashmiri Bachnagma, Dogri Chhajja dance and concluded with National Anthem.
The highlights of three day mega cultural event includes performances of light music, classical music and vocal, presentation by the young artists’ and a specially designed show on cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir festival featuring 100 children, Sufi festival, a theatre festival, visual art festivals and interactive folk dance and bands nights at the, Sri Ram Centre, DLF Mall , Soket and Jamia Milya Islamia.
The people who wittiness these three day event praised the intellectual discourse initiated by the Cultural Academy of Jammu and Kashmir.They said that we have had a glimpses of Jammu and Kashmir which is a confluence of cultural dialogue that has facilitated dialogue between different civilizations. “
