Kashmiri stag injured by hunter

REASI: stag was critically injured when some unidentified person targeted her and fired upon with a fun. Later the injured stag also known as Kashmiri Hungal was shifted to Jammu Veterinary Hospital for treatment. Reports said that people saw a stag critically injured in the adjoining forest area in Reasi and informed the matter to the police and Forest officials. DFO and Dy SP along with team of officials rushed to spot and shifted the stage to Jammu Veterinary Hospital for specialized treatment. A gunshot was found on the body of stag which was presumed might have been shot at by by some hunter. However the police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation and hunt of the shooter. Relevant to mention here that the ‘Hangul’ (Kashmiri stag), is the only surviving species of the red deer family in Kashmir, which appears to on the verge of extinction.
